After you have left me a message, I will contact you to arrange a 50 minute Initial Consultation. The cost of the Initial Consultation is £20. Its purpose is to give you an idea of what to expect from counselling and psychotherapy with me. We will explore what has led you to come, and what you hope to change through coming for counselling. At the Initial Consultation, you will have the opportunity to consider whether this is the right option at this time for you.
At the end of this appointment, you are under no obligation to return. It is not uncommon to decide at this stage that counselling and psychotherapy is not for you. Similarly, there may be occasions where I feel that you may be better suited to a different kind of support. If that is the case, I will explain to you why, and advise you of alternative options.
Ongoing Counselling and Psychotherapy
Assuming we have decided to go ahead, we are now ready to begin our work!
I will ask you to sign a confidential contract at this stage. This is to ensure that you can feel completely safe in knowing what to expect from me.
We will negotiate the number and frequency of sessions together. I have also found that building in a review process at regular intervals is useful, in ensuring that you continue to get the most out of our time together.
The usual cost for sessions is £40. Concessions may be available for students or the unwaged.
